Silverlawns was originally a Nursing Home, which stands on the corner of Totnes and Midvale Road, Paignton, Devon. The former nursing home was destroyed by fire and has been standing derelict for many years. This Victorian/Edwardian character property used to be a beautiful asset to the area, so we have regenerated the property with our proposal being sympathetic to the existing properties in the surrounding area whilst making it current and visually exciting. The development consists of 19 units in total, 4 x 2 Bed maisonette’s and 14 x 2 Bed Apartment’s which are a stone’s throw from Paignton town centre and the famous sea front
The arrival of the railway in 1859 made Paignton a very popular tourist destination and being part of the “English Riviera” to this day it continues to be one of the most popular resorts in the UK. Paignton offers a host of activities, attractions and local cuisine that will keep the whole family occupied; from beautiful beaches hosting a whole range of water-sports, to the popular Paignton pier that is not only a provider of hours of entertainment with the latest gaming machines but it offers stunning views over the bay. There is a nearby Crazy Golf course, Ten Pin bowling, and a popular 9 screen Vue Cinema, the list goes on. Once you have exhausted yourself with the day’s activities you can relax in one of Paignton’s diverse range of restaurants and bars all with great atmospheres. All of these attractions are within walking distance of our new development!

The development at Huntly is set at the heart of the village in tranquil landscaped grounds studded with majestic specimen trees. In the Victorian era, Huntly was adapted into a Hydro Spa Hotel, during which time it was reportedly visited by the famous play writer Noel Coward. Huntly was bought by the Officers Association in 1950 in order to provide a residential home for Ex-RAF officers and housed some of our most highly decorated ‘Ace’ pilots from World War II. During this time, the grounds were enjoyed by the locals as a venue for a variety of community events. Wyse Homes have endeavoured to redevelop this prestigious building in a sympathetic manner as to keep alive the properties dignified history and maintain the air of stately serenity of the site. This has been achieved by retaining the original grounds for the enjoyment of the residents and creating select homes built or refurbished to the highest of standards. A quiet area incorporating a carp pond, has been included in the design of the gardens; sited to take advantage of the views over the river Teign and the rolling countryside beyond, for moments of peaceful reflection.
